Cindy Morgan, the performer most famous for her portrayal of Lacey Underall in the film “Caddyshack” and Lora/Yori in Disney’s initial “Tron” movie, has breathed her last. She was 69.
The authorities at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office in Florida verified the information to the Los Angeles Times, stating that Morgan succumbed to natural causes. They were unable to specify the exact date of her demise.
Morgan gained fame for her role as the attractive Lacey in the 1980 sports comedy “Caddyshack,” alongside stars like Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, and Rodney Dangerfield.
In a 2012 interview, Morgan said, “‘Caddyshack’ was my first movie, and I can say that the final product was so different; originally, it was about the caddies. So at the outset, I had nothing to lose by auditioning. It was enjoyable. All I focused on was making the person uneasy. Look them in the eye, do that thing many women know how to do.”
After making guest appearances on shows like “The Love Boat,” “Vega$,” and “Chips,” she took on the role of computer programmer Lora Baines and Yori, her digital double, in the sci-fi movie “Tron,” released in 1982. She reprised her involvement in the “Tron” universe by providing the voice of Ma3a in the video game “Tron 2.0,” released in 2003.
Morgan graced multiple television series throughout the ’80s and early ’90s, including “Bring ‘Em Back Alive,” “Hawaiian Heat,” “Masquerade,” “The Fall Guy,” “Tough Cookies,” “Beverly Hills Buntz,” “Falcon Crest,” “Matlock,” “Mancuso, FBI,” “Hunter,” and “The Larry Sanders Show.” She also worked on television films such as “The Midnight’ Hour” (1985), “Solomon’s Universe” (1985), “Dead Weekend” (1995), “Amanda & the Alien” (1995), and “Out There” (1995).
In addition to “Caddyshack” and “Tron,” Morgan’s résumé includes roles in movies like “Up Yours” (1979), “Galaxis” (1995), and “Open Mic’rs” (2006). Her most recent work involved voicing the character of Mason’s Mother in the independent film “Face of the Trinity,” which premiered in 2022.
