Alabama five-star QB recruit Julian Sayin has joined the transfer portal

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Freshman quarterback Julian Sayin, a five-star recruit from Alabama, has entered the transfer portal, becoming the latest player from the program to seek opportunities elsewhere following Kalen DeBoer taking over as coach, succeeding Nick Saban who has retired.

Sayin committed to the Crimson Tide in December, making him the 26th player and second signee to depart from Alabama since Saban’s announcement of retirement earlier this month.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 195 pounds, Sayin hails from Carlsbad, California. He was ranked as the nation’s third best quarterback recruit by 247sports.com.

On signing day, Saban praised Sayin as “an exceptional player”. “He throws the ball really well,” Saban commented. “He’s precise and intelligent.”

DeBoer has reportedly secured a commitment from Austin Mack, one of his former quarterbacks at Washington, as per multiple sources. Mack is a four-star recruit who redshirted in the previous season.
