Tragic loss in Caribbean plane crash claims Actor Christian Oliver and his 2 young daughters

The unfortunate demise of Actor Christian Oliver, along with his two young daughters and the pilot of a small plane, occurred after the aircraft plunged into the Caribbean Sea, as reported by authorities on Friday.

In a statement, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force stated that Oliver, 51, referenced in the statement as Christian Klesper, and his daughters, Madita, aged 12, and Annik, aged 10, were aboard the small plane. The pilot was identified as Robert Sachs, a local resident and owner of the aircraft, who also held American citizenship as per the U.S. State Department.

Oliver’s representatives also confirmed his passing, expressing their condolences on behalf of him, his two daughters, and his family, in a statement provided to CBS News.

The police force revealed that the plane crashed into the sea approximately a mile off the coast of Petit Nevis during the afternoon. Though the aircraft was en route to St. Lucia, approximately 65 miles away, authorities stated that shortly after takeoff, it encountered problems and descended into the ocean.

According to officials, local fishermen and divers responded to the crash site. The bodies were retrieved by divers, as reported by authorities, and handed over to members of the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard who had arrived at the scene.

All individuals on the plane were declared deceased by a medical practitioner, according to authorities. Post-mortem examinations will ascertain the causes of the fatalities.

The investigation into the plane crash is ongoing, as stated by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force. The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority informed CBS News that it is currently in the process of gathering information to aid the investigation.

The State Department affirmed its provision of “all appropriate consular assistance” to the families of the victims.

Oliver, originally from Germany and widely recognized for his role in the 2008 film “Speed Racer,” shared on New Year’s Day that he and his family were “somewhere in paradise.”

He also featured in the movies “The Good German” and “Valkyrie,” as indicated on his website.

According to his iMDB page, Oliver’s upcoming appearances include two films. “London Blue” is in post-production without a confirmed release date, while “Forever Hold Your Peace” is currently in production. The film’s director, Nick Lyon, mentioned in an Instagram post that filming for the production had recently wrapped up.

“We had discussed collaborating on a film for years, and finally made it happen,” Lyon remarked, highlighting this as their fifth joint project. “Thank you for being an excellent colleague, actor, and friend.”
